West Region Soccer New Brunswick

Who Are We and What Do We Do?

A few years ago, Soccer New Brunswick divided the province into five regions to better deliver soccer programs at a regional level. The responsibility of each region is to manage, deliver, and organize player development, coach education, and assist clubs to further develop and improve soccer.

The five regions are:

  • North-West Region

  • West Region

  • East Region

  • South Region

  • North Region

Each region may have full-time Regional Technical Director to oversee the implementation and delivery of Soccer New Brunswick and the Regional Association initiatives. Such initiatives currently undertaken are:

  • Regional Player Development (RDP)

  • Facilitating Coaching Courses and Workshops

  • Mentoring of Recreational and Competitive Coaches

  • Providing support to clubs regarding technical aspects of soccer

  • Overseeing the development of elite and recreational soccer players

The West Regional Technical Director has a
Technical Advisory Group that provides advisement and support on technical aspects to assist the continued development and improvement of soccer in the region.

West Region Soccer encompasses areas from Nackawic, Millville, Minto, Douglas, Fredericton, New Maryland, Oromocto, and Gagetown. Plans are currently underway to establish more clubs in other areas of the West Region.

West Region has recently established a West Region Soccer Association to better manage all soccer programs in the West Region.

The primary aim of West Region Soccer Association is to establish for the benefit the soccer community in the region, with appropriate structures and programs to enable WRS to deliver, manage, regulate, develop and promote the sport in the region. This will enable WRS to assist with development of soccer to increase the quality and quantity of participation arcoss the various sections of the sport.

Specific Objectives

1. To govern and administer all aspects of soccer within the region.
2. To actively introduce and develop initiatives of the WRSA, SoccerNB, and CSA to all the clubs in the region.
3. To actively encourage all people to participate and develop their skills through their participation in soccer.
